A ROUSING concert by the Minehead Male Voice Choir has raised more than £500 for the town's Jubilee clock tower appeal.
More than 100 people attended the event at Minehead Methodist Church in The Avenue, with the programme consisting of a repertoire from all four corners of the UK.
The patriotic evening was brought to a fitting end when the entire audience joined together in a rendition of Rule Britannia, led by Gordon Green, suitably attired in a union jack.
Before everyone stood to sing the national anthem, Sally Bainbridge, chair of the clock tower project, thanked everyone concerned.
She added: “I would like to press home the need for the general and business communities to continue giving their support.
“In the future, the clock will be a lasting landmark, showing that the people of Minehead were able to come together to mark this memorable moment in the history of our great nation.”
