POLICE swooped on a home in Warwick Gardens, Taunton, yesterday following a potential bomb scare.
Officers found chemicals after executing the warrant and three men were arrested.
A bomb disposal team attended as a precaution, but police are keen to stress there was never any danger to the public and the incident is not linked to terrorism.
A force spokesman said: “The chemicals have been taken away for safe disposal.
“We were satisfied that there was no need for the immediate area to be evacuated.
“The investigation is continuing and the safety of the public has been and will continue to be our priority throughout the investigation.
“We’d appeal for anyone with any information to contact Avon and Somerset Police on 101.”
Police are this afternoon searching a property in Park Street, Taunton, in connection with the incident.
Two 21-year-old men and a 17-year-old man are currently in custody at Taunton Police Station after being arrested in Warwick Gardens.
