PUNTERS at a Wedmore pub had the chance to sample something exotic at a beer and sausage festival.
The New Inn attracted more than 80 people to try a new beer and a range of unusual sausages.
Landlord Frank Sparks said: “We decided to host the festival because we were showcasing a new beer called 'Rare Breed' by Butcombe Brewery.
“We have also been introducing a new range of sausages into our menu, which are made by Ashton Exotic Meats.
“The company uses meat from things like zebra and bison and they've made a range for us, including the Somerset Buffalo and Butcome Beer Sausage. We thought it all fitted together.”
The event on Friday evening was a first for the pub and was deemed a success by punters.
Frank added: “It went really well, we had great feedback from both newcomers and regulars.
“We sold about 540 pints of real ales which was great trade. We would like to do another one in about three months, where we will have another theme.”
