POLICE are appealing for information after graffiti was sprayed across several areas of Castle Cary.
Over the past week the town has been plagued with black spray paint covering the Library, Bailey Hill car park, Millbrook Gardens public amenities building, The Market House telephone kiosk areas as well as a property along North Street.
Castle Cary police officers are keen to oust the perpetrator of these graffiti incidents and is keen for people to come forward if they have any information.
PCSO Dan Arthur said: "A number of locations have been targeted this week by currently unknown offenders.
"Black spray paint has been used to cast a stencil of a handgun along with signs and symbols which represent political extremists.
"This graffiti is particularly distasteful as it coincided with Armistice Remembrance Services.
"Enquiries are ongoing to identify the offenders of these incidents and I would request that if the public recognise the offenders 'tag' or can assist us in any way then please contact our non-emergency number 101."
Calls to the 101 service are charged at a flat rate of 15 pence per call. Alternatively the public can provide information anonymously by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers - for free on 0800 555 111.
