IT took staff and students a little more than 90 minutes to pull a tractor from Bridgwater College to its Cannington centre during National Welly Week.
More than 30 students donned their wellies and grouped together to pull a Massey Ferguson tractor to its destination - and raise more than £1,000 in the process.
Coordinator Lucy Counsell said: “National Welly Week is great fun for our students, but it also has a serious side, which is about raising funds for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute, a charity which supports members of the farming community facing need, hardship or distress.
“Bridgwater College is a very keen supporter of this organisation, and this is reflected in the sum of money raised.“This sum smashes previous total raised by agriculture and horticulture students - and looks like it might be one of the record breaking amounts raised by organisations supporting welly week across the country.”
Bridgwater College's Cannington Centre is holding an open day on November 12 from 10am - 2pm.
