A VETERINARY surgery in Ilminster held a special open day this week, inviting members of the public to see what services they offer.

Minster Veterinary Practice on Ditton Street held the event on Wednesday, July 20, from 2pm to 5pm, with more than 30 people visiting to look at the facilities.

The event was to mark National Vet Nursery week, which was celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Veterinary Nursing qualification.

Staff made cakes and snacks were available for guests, who found out about the practice’s advisory role for its clients, and other services offered including microchipping and talks at local schools and colleges on pet care and careers advice.
