THE funeral details of a man who died from shotgun wounds in Taunton have been announced.
Police were called to Eastleigh Road, in Holway, at about 6.30am last Wednesday after a man was found outside a property with shotgun wounds.
On Friday, a spokesman for the West Somerset Cororner, Michael Rose, said the man was 56-year-old Stephen Michael Chant, who lived in Kilve Crescent, Taunton.
An inquest was opened and adjourned on Thursday which heard Mr Chant had died of shotgun wounds to the head.
Officers sealed off the area while an investigation was carried out.
The road was reopened on Wednesday afternoon and yesterday a police spokesman said the matter had been referred to the coroner and was not being treated as suspicious.
Mr Chant’s funeral takes place at Taunton Deane Crematorium on Monday, June 20, at 1.30pm – for more details, see the announcement in tomorrow's County Gazette. Anyone with information on the incident can call Taunton police on 0845-4567000.
