A woman in her 60s has died from her injuries following a head-on crash between two cars near Roche yesterday.
Police said the woman was driving a Smart car, registered to the Newquay area, on the old A30 road between Roche Cross and Castle-an-Dinas, the B3274.
She and the driver of a Peugeot collided at 12.45pm.
Both drivers and the four passengers in the Peugeot were taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for treatment.
The driver of the Smart car subsequently died, while the driver of the Peugeot was initially described as having “serious” injuries.
However, police said this morning that all five people in the Plymouth-registered Peugeot were now classed as only having minor injuries.
The road was closed for four hours while police officers carried out an examination of the scene, not reopening until 6.45pm.
