British Transport Police have today issued a photograph of a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault at a Truro railway station.

Officers are for the public’s help in identifying the man in the CCTV images captured at the station.

They believe the man may have information that can help in their investigation into an incident that dates back to Friday, January 14.

PC Wayne Frost, the investigating officer, said: “A member of staff was checking tickets on platform two at Truro station at around 8.15am.

“A man approached and said he had left his ticket on the train. When the member of staff informed him he would need to go back and get it in order to leave the station, the man started shouting and swearing at the member of staff.

“The man returned to the train before returning to the member of staff and throwing the ticket in his face, pushing him with force in the chest.

“Although uninjured, the member of staff was shaken by the man’s behaviour.”

He asked anyone who recognised the man to contact British Transport Police straight away on the free-phone number 0800 40 50 40, ref B6/WWA of 02/02/2011, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
