A man wading into rough seas at Perranporth yesterday had to be pulled out by police officers.
Police were called at around 12.30pm, about a man said to be in a “state of distress”; there were concerns for his welfare.
Officers carried out a search and found the man a short time later, at Perranporth beach, wading out to sea.
The sea was rough, with five to six foot waves.
The man was chest deep in water before a police community support officer and a police constable were able to wade in and bring him out of the water.
The man was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, for checks on his health and welfare and health. No one was injured in the incident.
