A WELLINGTON pub has raised £1,030 for the Somerset Prostate Support Association.

Nick Fenn, landlord at The Dolphin Inn, Waterloo Road, organised two cream tea sessions, a mouse racing night and a put a collecting bottle on the bar.

Over the past five years the pub has raised more than £5,000 for a range of charities including Help for Heroes, The Parkinson Society, Cancer Research UK, Children’s Hospice South-West and Greyhound Rescue West of England.

March is Prostate Cancer Month and the funds raised by the Dolphin will be going towards the funding of a free PSA testing clinic being run in memory of the late prostate association secretary Peter Loader.

The clinic will be held at the association’s quarterly meeting at the Albemarle Centre in Taunton.

At the meeting Professor Ken Muir will be talking about research into ‘risk based screening’ of men for prostate cancer and urologist Mr David Baxter-Smith will talk about the PSA test.
