Bitterly cold weather with the occasional Arctic blasts is expected to bring a shock to Cornwall later this week.
In some areas heavy frosts are forecast and on high ground it could be snow causing the problems.
Temperatures are expected to plummet to minus 5c in some places with maximum temperatures struggling to reach above 2c at times.
There is a possibility from Thursday that there could be some snow showers over Cornwall which drive south from the Irish Sea according to the Met office. By the weekend it is expected to be colder and snow showers could happen at any time.
To make matters worse for the normally warmer climate of Cornwall, the cold weather could be here for two weeks.
