Over 40 new jobs have been created for Newquay as supermarket giant Asda prepares to open its brand new store in the town on Monday.
The new Asda outlet has created 46 new jobs and has 23 colleagues joining Asda from the previous retailer at the site in Oakleigh Terrace.
The new 13,287 square feet store will offer customers a place to do a full weekly shop and includes other services, including a photo-processing desk.
New general store manager Rick Rawle, said: “We are delighted to be bringing Asda to Newquay and we hope that customers will respond positively to the new store. Asda Newquay will be a friendly, community based supermarket and we hope it will give a real boost to Newquay’s retail economy.”
