AN investigation has been launched following a small fire at Hinkley Point B power station this afternoon.
A spokesman for EDF Energy said the fire started in a room in the gas circulator workshop building just before 1.30pm.
Staff in the area were asked to muster and the fire was cordoned off.
Fire crews were called to the scene and the blaze was out by 2pm.
No one was hurt in the fire and EDF say there is no threat to the integrity of the plant or the health, safety and welfare of staff, contract partners of members of the public.
Assessments have been carried out on the two operating reactors and the station has informed the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate and the Environment Agency in line with procedure.
