A whole host of activities have been planned to take place in Truro as part of the celebrations for One World Week.

The national event, running for a week from October 17, encourages people to think about how they are connected to the wider world and Truro will be getting involved with a variety of events.

Truro Cathedral is hosting an exhibition with charities including Amnesty, the United Nations Association, Oxfam and ShelterBox all taking part and huge wicker globe will be hanging outside the cathedral as a symbol throughout the week, as well as the UN flag which will be flying outside County Hall to mark United Nations Day on Friday, October 22.

Also as part of the celebrations, which this year follows the theme “Peacing Together One World” art workshops on making wicker doves and Japanese origami at Truro Library.
