THIRTY cadets from Salamanca Company, Somerset Cadet Battalion (The Rifles), and the Army Cadet Force, helped St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice stage a fundraising event at Montacute House on Tuesday, September 7.
The cadets – from Yeovil, Martock and Crewkerne platoons – assisted with car parking, marshalling and general duties at the event, which consisted of military music and precision drills.
The performances took place on Montacute’s Cedar Lawn and featured music from the Coldstream Guards, the Corps of Drums of 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, and the Pipes and Drums of the Wessex Highlanders.
The Officer Commanding Salmanca Company, Major Paul Bunce, said: “I am proud to say that our cadets have done a great job helping with this evening’s event. It demonstrates a willingness to play their part in supporting the community whenever and however they can.”
