AN AUTHOR from Chard has had his first novel published this month.

John Scott, of Furnham Close, has self-published the novel The Legend of Adam Caine, which is now available online.

The book tells the story of 42 people being snatched from the London Underground in a blinding flash of light. They are unsure where they have been taken, or who has taken them. Only one among them can break them free: Adam Caine, a reluctant war hero.

John, who has been writing since he was 14, works as a chef at Oscar Mayer in Chard and lots of his friends have been asking him for copies.

John said: “I have got 15 books planned in total – my fiancée thinks I’m mad. I have started writing the next one and have loads more notes.”

Inspiration for the novel came from a trip to see the London Marathon more than four years ago. When standing on the platform people were asked to leave the station due to a suspicious package.

John added: “I got caught up with the idea of what would happen if something like this happened on the London Underground.”

The idea to self publish came about after a conversation with a friend – and John decided to give it a try. But he is hoping that if the book is successful he won’t have to self publish the next one.

The book is also on the shelves at local bookstore Hooked on Books. To order your copy call 01460-67925 or follow the link below.
