There won’t be a wetsuit in sight at Chapel Porth near St Agnes today as competitors take to the water for the annual Belly Boarding Championships.
Particpants young and old will fight it out on old fashioned belly boards with many in traditional bathing clothing, with the common wetsuit not allowed.
The annual National Trust event now gets around 200 entrants since it was started by surfers Martin Ward, an RNLI lifeguard, and Chapel Porth National Trust car park attendant Chris Ryan.
As well as competing for the grand prize, the competition will stretch to the most stylish belly boarder, best trick best artwork, best costume and best bathing cap.
