Organisers of 2010 Cornwall Pride are hailing how it as got “bigger and better” each year after hundreds of people lined the streets of Truro for a carnival to celebrate gay pride on Saturday.
With a circus theme, Truro was filled with fancy dress, as seven floats made their way through the city before a live concert for the third annual Cornwall Pride event.
Chairman Christian Diamont, who is now stepping down after three years in charge said: “It was bigger and better than we have had in previous years, the parade was longer and we had more floats, a great crowd and fantastic weather.”
He said that one of the highlights of the day was the evening concert which featured singer Lisa Scott-Lee, famous for being in the pop group Steps.
“The evening event was an absolute success and a sell-out. Lisa Scott-Lee was wonderful and came and spent time with people after the show. It was very nice to have the famous mingle amongst the Truro crowd.”
