FIRE crews tackled a 'deliberate' blaze at a home in Smithy, Bishops Hull, at 9.10am today.
Crews were called to reports of smoke issuing from a property.
Two fire engines from Taunton attended initially but soon requested a third to assist on arrival at the scene.
Crews confirmed there to be a fire within the property and set about extinguishing it using two hose reel jets and four firefighters in breathing apparatus.
A Fire and Rescue spokesman said the cause of the fire was deliberate ignition and the property was damaged throughout by fire and smoke.
The British Red Cross, Fire and Emergency Support Unit (FESS) also attended the incident.
