Drugs seized after police stop car


POLICE have seized suspected drugs and arrested three men after police stopped a vehicle on the A371 near Evercreech.

At around 1.45am this morning two officers stopped a red BMW with two men inside.

The vehicle was searched and five bags of white powder were recovered from inside the vehicle.

A 26-year-old man from Melksham was arrested for providing a positive breath test and on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

The other man, a 19-year-old from Frome, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Both men were taken to Yeovil Police station and remain in custody.

Shortly after 4am another officer stopped a man in Market Place, Shepton Mallet.

He was searched and had a small amount of white powder, suspected cocaine, on him.

The 19-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and was taken to Wells Police Station. He was later released with a caution.
