Multiple car fires in Yeovil

FIRE officers were called to reports of multiple car fires under a block of flats in Preston Road, Yeovil, earlier this morning.

The alarm was raised at just after 3.30am to the incident and two fire engines from Yeovil were mobilised.

On arrival they found that the blaze spread from one vehicle to a further two due to the proximity of the cars in a parking area underneath some flats.

But a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “There was no fire spread to the block of flats.”
