Drugs raid at Mount Pleasant home

POLICE executed a drugs warrant earlier today at a home in Mount Pleasant, Yeovil.

Shortly after 9.30am officers forced entry to the property.

A systematic search of all the rooms was completed by officers and a police dog trained to detect the presence of drugs.

A small amount of a substance believed to be cannabis, a Class B drug, was found and seized. Enquiries continue to find out who this belonged to.

Sgt Mark Hunt, of Yeovil police, said: "Whenever we suspect premises are being used to abuse drugs we will take swift action to tackle this.

"We have attended an address in Mount Pleasant and seized what we believe to be cannabis.

"Not only has it taken drugs off our streets but it sends a message to anyone with drugs that they should be worried about us knocking on their door next.

"We value information from the community and will act on it whenever we can.

"We will look at it and even if you don't see an immediate result it may be used as part of larger, longer-term investigations.

"If you can help, do come forward as your information makes a difference."

If you have information about the people, places or vehicles involved in drugs in your community phone Avon and Somerset Police on 0845-4567000.
