MINEHEAD and West Somerset Swimming Club’s Tornadoes are celebrating victory in the Cotswold Series B Final at Keynsham last Saturday.
More accustomed to competing in the C final, they arrived as the underdogs after gaining fewer points in the four earlier rounds than the five other B finalists.
But following the programme of 36 individual and 16 relay events, Tornadoes notched up an impressive tally of 14 first places, 12 second places and 15 third places, with 23 personal best times.
At the end of the competition the|final points were Tornadoes 232,Burnham-on-Sea 203, Brockworth 198, Dursley 162, Cheddar 151 and Severnside Tritons 149.
