EXMOOR National Park Authority has appointed a new ranger, Adam Vasey, 30, to the team.
Dan Barnett, access and recreation manager, said: “We had a great response with some outstanding candidates and after careful consideration we selected Adam for the job.
“He brings a wealth and breadth of experience and skills working with local communities, young people, volunteers and visitors.” The work of the Rangers includes managing path maintenance and improvement as well as other types of countryside recreation and conservation work, all of which require close work with communities, landowners, volunteers and the public.
They also work with the authority’s education team to support education activities and contribute to the walks and events programme.
Commenting on his appointment, Adam said: “Everyone has been really friendly and welcoming and I look forward to settling in and making this my home.
“I feel very fortunate to get my dream job and I’ll be trying to get to know everyone over the next few months.”
