A FERRET was found frolicking in a Minehead garden on Saturday afternoon.
The young male was discovered in a backyard in The Parks area of the seaside town.
The homeowner managed to catch him in a cat basket and called Tropiquaria Zoo, near Watchet, who took him in.
Tropiquaria director Chris Moiser said: “I would imagine that this is someone’s much loved pet and will be sorely missed. Despite the reputation that ferrets acquired as a result of the Monty Python type humour of the 60s and 70s, they do make very good pets.
“Although they potentially have a nasty bite, once they are tame it is not normally an issue.”
In the past month Tropiquaria has housed a number of exotic animals found wandering locally, including a king snake and a bearded dragon.
Is the ferret yours? Call Tropiquaria on 01984-640688. The zoo is currently open daily from 10.30am-5pm.
