AS J.D. Wetherspoon pulls in the punters at its new bar in Chard, a local councillor is accusing the pub giant of opening before it has complied with planning conditions.
Town, district and county councillor Jill Shortland wants the firm to install temporary rubber bollards in Essex Close to act as a traffic calmer until it puts in permanent speed bumps.
Cllr Shortland said that J.D. Wetherspoon had been told by planners it must install speed bumps on the road. Planners originally wanted the pub company to construct a footpath in Essex Close, but later agreed to the speed bumps.
