Truro Rugby Club is hosting a special evening from 7.30pm on Friday, June 21, to launch its Sponsorship Campaign for the forthcoming season.

All its existing sponsors and potential new ones have been invited to both celebrate the success of the 2001/02 season and to prepare for the new season.

There will be a short video showing the highlights from the County Skinner's Brewery Cup won by Truro in April and there will be a presentation of the trophy for the club's promotion to South West One.

Don Rutherford, the former England Rugby international and ex-RFU technical director, will make the presentation. He said: "I am pleased to be invited to make the presentation after what can only be described as a very successful season for one of the leading clubs in the county.

"Truro comes across as a family orientated club which has not only achieved success with its first team squad, but throughout the club at mini/junior, colts, second and third teams and its women's section."

A new brochure has been designed for the occasion to promote the sponsorship and commercial opportunities available at the club. The chairman of sponsorship, Paul Barnes, will be pleased to hear from anyone who wants to help out the club during the next season. He said: "To continue the success of the club, it is imperative that local businesses and individuals come forward to support and help make Truro the number one club in the county as befits its city status".

Anyone wishing to attend the sponsors' evening or help the club financially in anyway should contact Paul Barnes on 01872 242018.
