HUNDREDS of primary school children hoping to see the Spider-Man film at Taunton's Odeon cinema are going to be disappointed after local censors decided its 12 certificate must stay.
A panel of five Taunton Deane councillors ruled the movie contained scenes of violence unsuitable for young children after they viewed it on Tuesday (June 18).
The licensing board was convened after four councils in other parts of the country last week overturned the British Board of Film Classification's rating.
The review followed a request from district councillor Mark Edwards, who was unable to take his eight-year-old daughter to the film.
