ILMINSTER veteran athlete Joe Phillips has continued to be active in different disciplines of athletics since winning silver in the javelin at the World Veteran Athletic Championship in Brisbane, Australia in the summer of 2001.
He has won medals of all colours in the South West and Southern England, plus the National Championships of the UK and Malta.
In his main event, the javelin, he remains unbeaten in veterans competitions in the past year. With the men's bigger sized javelin, he also recently won the Wiltshire County men's javelin title at the age of 67!
