RE-BUILDING work at Chard's Guildhall, hampered by wet weather and lack of local labour, is now unlikely to be finished before the end of November.
The bad news was delivered by John Mitchard, managing director of building contractors Melhuish and Saunders, during a town council meeting last week.
Originally due to be completed by July, the finish date was put back until September. Penalty clauses have been included in the contract, meaning any building delays should not cost tax payers.
