FORMER Chard publican Martin Dowell threatened to kill ex-wife Jenny Welch in one of a string of phone calls Yeovil Magistrates Court was told yesterday (Tuesday).
Dowell, 44, from Crossways, South Chard, was also accused of stalking Welch and Andrew Kenton and confronting them near Kenton's home in Monmouth Court, Chard.
Dowell, Welch and Kenton were business partners in a company which owned the Phoenix Hotel and bought the former Cerdic Cinema and Chard, Dowell and Welch were divorced last November, the court was told.
Dowell has pleaded not guilty to charges of causing harassment. The case was continuing as the News went to press.
