A HOST of organisations and schools in Redruth and Camborne are to benefit in the latest round of lottery funding with over £36,000 coming to the area.
Redruth Tennis Club are to benefit with an award of over £4,300 which will provide coaching and tennis equipment for an after school club.
Troon Cricket Club will use their award of nearly £4,500 to provide new safe practice equipment and facilities.
The maximum possible award of £5,000 was given to Camborne Town Band, who will bring a professional brass band to Cornwall for a concert and workshops.
Illogan School will use their £3,800 to fund a variety of sports resources and training for after school clubs and Rosemellin Primary School in Camborne will develop new clubs in athletics, tennis, cricket and key stage one multi-activity club for younger students with a loan of £2,000.
Archery, mountain biking and kayaking will be possible at Carnkie School thanks to their award of £2,850, and climbing and martial arts will be developed at Weeth School in Camborne with their award of £2,000.
Portreath Community Primary School will use an award of £2,875 to further develop its out of hours programme.
New coaching opportunities for cricket will be enjoyed by pupils at Pool School with an award of almost £4,000 and Redruth School's award of just under £5,000 will help them to manage an after school gym club for primary schools in the area.
Senior awards officer from Awards for All, Steve Barriball said: "This latest round of award announcements will make a real impact for these deserving groups. I am acutely aware of how much difference even a small grant can make to community organisations."
