Following the previous week's almost wasted journey to Callington, at least Mullion had the benefit of a double home weekend when they returned the hospitality to the east Cornwall outfit on Sunday.

Unfortunately it was extended on to the playing area as well as Jamie Hatch's men enjoyed themselves knocking up 265-8 in 60 overs. Though it was a target well out of reach of the home team the Callington bowlers never got close to forcing a win thanks to the efforts of Wayne Vincent who recorded a superb century.

Danny Gillman struck an early blow trapping former county captain Godfrey Furse for six with the score at 18. It was a batting day, however, as the rest of the top order made hay. Andy Birkett top scored with 57 closely followed by former Launceston player Marcus Gilbert with 48, Peter Trego 39, Andy Hocking 33 and Andrew Shorten 28.

Matthew Crapp took 4 for 58 off 13 overs and Bradley Bury 2-31.

Mullion lost Kevin Bosustow for one with the score at 20. Vincent joined Gareth Taylor and a stand of 116 virtually determined the outcome of the match.

Taylor was dismissed for 34 but Vincent went on to hit an excellent century, in close view of the present county team manager Godfrey Furse for good measure. He was bowled right at the end by Jamie Shorten for 104.

Mullion took 10 points from the game and with 17 points out of 40 over the weekend against two of the stronger sides in the League.

On Saturday Mullion make a speedy return to Troon following Tuesday's Vinter cup semi-final at Treslothan Road.
