FORMER Minehead full back Charlie Lewis is set to make a comeback with the Screwfix League first division club.
The veteran defender has not played for about three years but has told Minehead boss Andy Hodgson he will be joining in pre-season training.
"His intention is to play for the reserves but I'd like to consider him for the first team if he can get himself fit," said Hodgson.
"Charlie was a good player and we need more experience in the side.
"Naturally you have to strike the right balance between experience and youth.
"Last season we had just the two experienced players. This season I hope to change this."
Hodgson also plans to target two ex-Minehead players, Shaun Pople and Dave Clarke who were with Bridgwater Town last season.
Minehead's players will be reporting back for pre-season training on Tuesday, July 2.
Hodgson plans to hold twice weekly sessions - on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Those players who do not train may find themselves being left out of the first team.
" If I can get a big enough squad I will be operating a 'No train, no play' policy for the coming season," added Hodgson.
