Despite a reduction from eight to six flats which Carnon Downs subpostmaster David Chaplin wants to build on the site of his post office and shop at Forth Coth, Feock councillors still feel his plan is not good enough.
Mr Chaplin's proposal to turn the premises into residential accommodation follows his dissatisfaction with the amount of trade he does there, although he is prepared to relocate the post office at his other CostCutter store in Smithy Lane.
The parish council had no objection in principle to the larger plan put forward earlier, although it had concerns over parking, but the district council were not happy with it.
When Mr Chaplin's revised scheme comes before Carrick again, this time it will have an objection from Feock, after residents have told members of their fears that it would be overdevelopment and bring parking problems.
Members agreed to Mr Chaplin's proposal to relocate the post office although it was said that this would only make the present "horrendous" parking situation in Smithy Lane even worse.
