Members of Falmouth Cricket Club have met this week to discuss whether the £150,000 Sport England grant is secure.

The club needs to find £40,000 to collect the grant and they were meeting to evaluate how much more was required to meet the target.

Chairman Terry Trezise told the Packet he was still very hopeful of getting the grant but only if people who have said they will help the club do so.

He said: "We have things in the pipeline but they need to happen, and we still need all the support and sponsors we can get to make sure we get this grant."

The deadline to raise the £40,000 has already been put back once but Mr Trezise is hopeful that with a little extra time the club can secure the final few thousand they now need.
