Pupils from Germoe primary school took part in the annual Crying the Neck ceremony held by Germoe parish church last week.
Year six pupils Zoe Humphreys and Elizabeth Weeks volunteered to attend the ancient ceremony, which was conducted by deputy grand bard Rod Lyon, from Nancegollan.
Germoe vicar the Rev Penny Stevens led the prayers, while Geoff Helmore, from Praa Sands, cut the last sheaf - the "neck" - to symbolise the end of the harvest.
The traditional words accompanying the pre-Christian ritual were then pronounced in English and in Cornish.
The ceremony, held in glorious autumn sunshine, was followed by a brief service at the parish church and a pasty supper.
