A FABULOUS tapestry exhibition at Truro Cathedral has been hailed as a triumph.
Visitor officer Colin Reid this week said the tapestry was so stunning that it stopped people in their tracks.
He said: "We weren't prepared for the rocket of colour that went up. Most of the panels were 3D, which was amazing. We had to put it in the north aisle as it was the only place big enough for the whole tapestry. It stopped everybody in their tracks as they came in."
The tapestry was partly made by children from four schools in Cornwall - Grade Ruan School in Ruan Minor; St Martin in Meneage School, Meneage, St Meriadoc School in Camborne, and Crowan School, Camborne.
Mr Reid said: "People were amazed that children could produce something like that. It was a lovely glimpse into how children see their lives."
The tapestry was originally a nationwide Millennium project, but has gone on display this year in honour of the Queen's golden jubilee celebrations.
There are now plans to extend the tapestry to other countries in the Commonwealth, and create a Commonwealth Tapestry of Hope.
