HEAD teachers and governors from Mid Devon have challenged the Prime Minister to visit the region and witness the effects of the "unfair" national funding system in local schools.
Consultation over proposed changes to the system ended this week and education chiefs are worried that three of the four proposed options would leave the county even worse off.
Tony Blair has so far failed to respond to a Devon delegation which met him in July, when he promised: "I will come back to you as soon as i possibly can with a detailed response."
Now a coalition of educational bodies is calling on Mr Blair to see the situation for himself. Among them is the director of PTA Devon, Simon Patton who lives near Cullompton and whose children went to local schools.
