MORE car parking, a new cinema, and a farmers' market - these were ideas put forward by the people who turned up at the crucial meeting on regenerating Highbridge.

A report on the June 17 meeting at King Alfred School has revealed what people have on their wish list for their town.

As reported in the Weekly News, the meeting offered an insight into what improvements are planned for Burnham and Highbridge, as part of the Market and Coastal Towns Initiative (MCTI).

Accordingly to the report, around 300 people were in attendance, and nearly half of them heard about it through the Weekly News.

The report said that 48 per cent of visitors went along because they had read about it in their local newspaper, while others had heard through word of mouth or posters.
