Yeovil Town's very own larger-than-life mascot, the Jolly Green Giant, is currently limbering up in readiness for this Saturday's annual charity mascot race at Chepstow Racecourse.
The Jolly Green Giant, who came a disappointing last in the 2002 event, will be hoping to do better this time around in the one furlong race which will be held at 1.45pm in aid of the Injured Jockey's Fund.
The mascots - representing clubs from across the region - have been given three rules: No running shoes or spikes to be worn, trainers allowed if mascot costume does not include 'feet', and there is to be no fighting among the contestants!
A spokesman for the Yeovil Town Independent Supporters' Association said: "After all the success the club has achieved in the last couple of years, we just hope that the Jolly Green Giant doesn't let the side down on Saturday! We hope he's been in training for this big race."
