A TEENAGE tearaway is being allowed to run wild by Social Services her desperate father has claimed.

The 14-year-old girl, who the County Gazette has agreed not to identify, has repeatedly run away from her home in Bishops Lydeard for that past couple of years, and has been living with her 18-year-old boyfriend since just after Christmas.

Her father says they have tried to keep her under control, but as him and his wife have to work they cannot constantly keep an eye on her.

She repeatedly says she doesn't want to live with them anymore, so her father has tried to work with Social Services to sort the situation out.

He said: "We are at our wits end. This has been going on for two years, but Social Services just don't seem to want to help us.

"We keep getting told it's our parental responsibility, but we just cannot control her any more.

"We are asking for help and they just seem to be avoiding the issue.

"We arranged for a meeting with them last week, which was cancelled, and now we are waiting for another one to be arranged while our daughter is out living god knows where."

He added they had no idea where she is living, as she has no permanent address, what she is living off of and who she is mixing with.

"She's only 14 years only, I am angry that this has been going on so long and they have not given us any help."

Social Services said they cannot comment on individual cases but are working to try and resolve the situation with the family as quickly as possible.
