TAUNTON builders Rok have two reasons to celebrate this week. The company was awarded the highest rating for its safety performance from the British Safety Council, receiving five stars out of five.

They also reached the finals of the Somerset Business Awards, being named runner up for Service Excellence, which attracted 100 entries, and second place as Business of the Year.

Rok area leader for Somerset, Steve Bradley, said: “The team here strive to provide excellent customer service in everything we do. This accolade recognises their hard work and such recognition is a real boost in these challenging times for our industry.”

Rupert Cox, chief executive of Somerset Chamber of Commerce, added: “The judges were particularly impressed with how Rok has adapted to the challenges faced in the construction sector and their ambitions for growing the business out of recession.

“Excellent customer service, community involvement and committed staff training were key areas that impressed the judging panel.”
