ROCK giants U2 will take the stage at Glastonbury as part of the festival’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
It will be the first time the band will perform at the festival.
Organiser Michael Eavis said: “The 26-year-old rumour has finally come true.
“At last, the biggest band in the world are going to play the best festival in the world!
“Nothing could be better for our 40th anniversary party. And there are even more surprises in the pipeline.”
The festival, which sold out in less than 24 hours, will be held over the weekend of July 25 to 27
