ARRESTS have been made following a number of shed and garage break-ins in Burnham and Highbridge.
A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary after a tip-off from neighbours that three youths were seen acting suspiciously in the Rosewood Avenue, Burnham.
A strimmer, stolen from an insecure garage nearby, was also recovered and two more youths were arrested.
They were released on bail and have been charged with burglary, to appear before Sedgemoor Youth Court in December.
In a separate incident a 34-year-old man from Taunton was arrested for a garage burglary in Burnham Road, Highbridge on Friday morning.
He has been released on police bail while enquiries are made into another burglary in Bridgwater.
Acting Sergeant Mark Bryant told the Weekly News: “We are grateful to the public for alerting the police when they see anything suspicious and would ask them to remain vigilant.
“I would also ask the public to check that their garages and sheds are securely locked and to switch on their lights after dark as a potential thief is more likely to target properties that appear to be unoccupied. “Both these offences were committed during the daytime but there have also been recent overnight burglaries in the Burnham area. “We are carrying out 24 hour targeted patrols but still need the help of the public.”
