TATWORTH Pre-school celebrated its 40th birthday at the weekend with a special party at the Memorial Hall for teachers, pupils and friends from the past four decades.
Over 100 people of all ages gathered to meet old friends and reminisce over photographs taken throughout the pre-school’s history.
Mayor of Chard, Cllr Jill Shortland gave a speech and there was a magician to entertain the youngsters.
Among some of the guests were the original founders of the Tatworth Playgroup as it was known in 1969 – Gwen Beresford, Daphne Carslake, Helen Meech, Joan Knight and Gladys Duke.
