VIEWERS in Taunton will get three chances to find out more about the UK’s switch to digital TV during at a series of roadshows.

A team will stop off in the town to offer practical advice on how to get set for digital.

Switchover will start on 24 March 2010, making digital TV through an aerial (Freeview) available to all 913,000 households in the West region.

More than 145,000 homes served by 58 local ‘relay’ transmitters will be able to receive Freeview for the first time, seeing the number of channels available through an aerial rising from four to around 15.

Digit Al, the switchover robot, will join the roadshow in orchard – formerly the Old Market Shopping Centre – on December 12 and February 17 and in the county town centre on March 8-9.

Visitors will be able to: ·Find out more about the switchover and their options for going digital.

·Learn how older and disabled people can get a TV converted by the Switchover Help Scheme.

·Put questions to Digital UK advisors.

·Meet Digit Al – Digital UK’s, star of BBC and commercial television.
