TONE Leisure has been helping two Taunton schools raise money as part of their Back to School equals Back to Fitness promotion.
Staff and sports centre members dressed up and made donations to enable the schools to buy some new sports equipment for their PE lessons.
Donations were collected throughout the week and cheques handed over to head teachers Mark Lunn, of Wellsprings Primary School, and Moira Hope, at Blackbrook Primary School.
Tone Leisure offered free quality running shoes to the first 100 members who joined last month, as well as a discounted joining fee.
Marketing manager Paula Bleasdale said: “I think it’s extremely important that Tone help to provide sporting opportunities for young people by whatever means available to us.
“By supporting local primary schools in this way we hope to be encouraging our fitness members of the future.
“It’s so important that young people keep fit and by providing more equipment there are more possibilities for them to try.”
