A BURNHAM teenager says she is too scared to go out with her friends after she claims she was attacked THREE times in a week.

Louise Warner, 18, of Westmere Crescent, now wants to warn other young women of the dangers of walking home alone after dark.

She has been left terrified after she says she was attacked while walking along Technical Street before being mugged twice in the space of a few days.

An emotional Louise told the Weekly News: “The first time it happened I was pushed against a wall really hard and left bruised - I had to go to hospital because I kept blacking out.

“Then a few days later I left my friend on Berrow Road at about 10.45pm and I was listening to my iPod and the next thing I knew I had been hit round the back of the head and fell to the floor.

“When I came round my head was bleeding, my handbag had been tipped all over the ground and I saw someone dressed in black running off.”

Her iPod and digital camera had been stolen but fortunately Louise was able to flag down a driver who stayed with her until the police arrived.

She also said her mobile phone was stolen in a separate incident in Manor Gardens.

Since the attack, Louise says she has been too frightened to leave the house on her own and is warning others not to become a victim.

She added: “Burnham is normally such a quiet and safe place so this has really shocked me.

“I would advise other young women to at least get your mum or someone else to pick you up at night if you are walking home, or get a friend to walk with you.”

n POLICE are appealing for anyone in the Rectory Road, Berrow Road area on Sunday, August 23 at around 10.45pm to contact them on 0845-4567000.
